OAS has experience working with a variety of populations and we welcome all ages and skill levels. For first-timers to those who'd like to improve their skills, weekend warriors and racers we offer half-day and full-day lessons at Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon and Hoodoo Ski Resort in Sisters, Oregon. We also offer group lessons customized to your group's goals and needs. Additionally, we host an annual winter and summer event for veterans with disabilities.
Our staff consists of certified adaptive instructors in the disciplines of monoski, bi-ski, 3-track, 4-track, alpine and snowboard. We also have instructors experienced at guiding blind and visually impaired skiers, as well as working with deaf and hard of hearing skiers/riders.
Ski buddies are available for independent skiers/riders who may need nothing more than a "buddy" to ski with. The OAS Ski Buddy is a trained volunteer who provides on-hill support such as assistance with loading/unloading the chairlift or getting back up after a fall. Ski Buddies also provide guidance around the mountain but do NOT provide instructions. Participants interested in this option need to be able to ski independently on green terrain and must be able to safely select and navigate terrain that is appropriate to their skill level.
For participants who need financial assistance to help cover their lesson cost or ski buddy may apply for an scholarship on our website. We recommend submitting your application at least two weeks prior to the day you wish to schedule a ski day.
